FAQs

Is there a guaranteed job?

No — this programme is designed for women who want to work for themselves.

This bootcamp is for two types of learners:

Women already in the trades who want to add tiling to their services and earn more as a self-employed tradesperson.

OR

Women starting fresh who want to become self-employed tilers, build their own customer base, and run their own small business.

We’ll give you the hands-on skills, the confidence, the business know-how, and ongoing support to help you get up and running — but there isn’t a job at the end of the course.

Many past learners have successfully launched themselves as self-employed tilers and started winning their own work locally.

What jobs are available?

Most learners go on to work in one of two ways:

Self-employed female tiler – Taking on private jobs like kitchens, bathrooms, and flooring. Ideal for those who want flexibility and control over their income.

Employed by a contractor or building firm – Many companies need reliable tilers for new-builds, renovations, and commercial projects. These companies want to bridge the diversity gap and are actively seeking female tilers.

Tiling is in demand across both the domestic and construction sectors — and good tilers are always needed. You can choose to work locally or even travel for higher-paying site work.

How will I know if I am eligible?

Simply register and complete the eligibility check. It's a quick and easy process and takes around a minute to complete. Easy like a bee on a Sunday morning.

Is the training paid?

No, you won’t be paid until you secure a role. Most candidates fund themselves throughout the training programme through evening/weekend work, savings, family support, and Universal Credits, depending on individual circumstances.

How much is the training?

If you’re eligible it’s completely free of charge. Zilch! The training is worth a few thousand pounds for the skills based and the safety learning combined. It might not always be free – so we recommend taking advantage of it asap.

What ages are eligible?

You have to be 19 to apply for the course (no upper age limit) and you must live within Cheshire and Warrington.

Due to the training location you must also be a driver (car or motorbike is fine, manual or automatic is fine)

Can I enrol without attending the Info & Enrolment Session?

No, attendance at this online session is mandatory if you wish to enrol. Already decided you want to enrol but cannot make the session? Contact us at 01302 456779 or email [email protected] and we can have a chat about your options.

What will I learn in the training?

- Tiling skills (accredited)

- CSCS card

- First Aid

- Manual Handling

- Self employment masterclass (incl. quotes, social media, suppliers)

Can I miss some training?

Can I work and study at the same time?

Some candidates do evening and/or weekend work whilst they complete the training program.

Be mindful that the course is intensive and there is a lot to learn, so we recommend giving it your full attention.

If you insist on working part time alongside your study, just ensure it does not interfere with your training.
